Talent Identification 2020 -

We started the year with a Swim England Olympic Diving Schools Talent Search that took place in January 16th & 17th at Corby East Midlands International Pool Diving Development Centre.

In collaboration with Corby, Oundle & Thrapston School Sport Partnership 5 Primary schools from our region participated on the testing bringing children directly in to our pool studio for the dry tests moving straight after to the pool for the water tests.
Usually on the primary schools talent search the coaches visit the school’s first for the phase-1 of the testing, phase-1 is like a PE session were coaches assess the youngsters potential before inviting successful children from phase-1 to phase-2 here children are tested in a more specific way on dry-land and in the pool, this time the schools came to Corby East Midlands International Pool straight in to Phase-2 allowing every child the opportunity to be tested in both dry-land and water tests.
We tested 86 participants and we got some great results we are now getting ready to accommodate the next generation of Little Rippers in to the club’s competitive programme and in to the CEMIP Learn to dive programme.
The CSDC is now looking forward to continue the development of competitive diving to a higher standards with our skill development squads and for an exciting year of competition.
Also we are especially proud and excited because we are hosting the Swim England National Skills Finals in July, hosting such an event is a great achievement for our club and East Midlands diving in general these are fantastic news.
A massive thank you to the CEMIP management, coaches and club committee for your invaluable support great team work.
