Swim Mark re-accreditation
Whilst the pools have been closed, we have been working hard behind the scenes to keep our affiliation with Swim England strong.

SwimMark accreditation is Swim England’s quality standard for clubs which recognises high standards of governance, sustainability and effectiveness.
Being a Swim Mark Essential Club helps us to achieve good governance, grow membership, develop volunteers and ensure our activity is sustainable and in line with club objectives.
It is accredited every two years and this year marked our first full re-accreditation requiring the submission of 16 elements showing evidence of enhanced club management, a strong structure and a united club.

We are proud to announce that we have successfully achieved re-accreditation June 2020, and will continue to provide a philosophy and program to help ensure the best environment for our divers and provide a quality service for our members.

Value of Clubs Survey
In March Swim England released a value of Clubs survey all Diving Clubs in the UK. The survey results will be used by Swim England to understand how being part of a club, across any discipline, helps contribute to an individual’s wellbeing.

The challenge was for each club to encourage as many members as possible to complete the survey.
We were up against big clubs like Sheffield and Plymouth but ultimately our Club pulled together and achieved an amazing result with 77% of our members completing the survey. We achieved the highest completion rate amongst our members overall and also amongst diving clubs resulting in CSDC winning £100 worth of Institute of Swimming vouchers and also £100 worth of equipment. A HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who helped the club achieve this!!

Dryland Training Update
On 18th March, just days before lockdown, we were finally able to make a start, and complete, the groundworks for a storage container at Lodge Park – the container will store dryboard equipment and mats and enable us to progress with our planned £18K installation.

A HUGE THANK YOU to Areks & Dorota Fleszer who, using their construction work knowledge & experience, offered to organise & carry out the work for us and did an amazing job!

The next step is to purchase a STORAGE CONTAINER for the site – if anyone knows of any good condition, standard 20ft containers for sale locally, please get in touch!!
